  • Who can use Color and Cool paints? Is any level of skill required?

There are no prerequisites. Color and Cool Paints are formulated for anyone who wants to splatter art on the street, create masterpieces for their collection, or take the first wingbeat toward unleashing their inner Picasso.

 

  • What is the main factor that makes Color and Cool paints different?

The high concentration of acrylic binding composition ensures a durable scratch-resistant bind between paint and leather surface. Color and Cool's formula stands out due to its superior durability, waterproofness, and flexibility.

 

  • What kind of surfaces can Color and Cool paints be used on?

Color and Cool Paint can be used on any leather surface as well as many other surfaces if prepared properly. Other surfaces include faux leather, canvas, denim, and nylon fabrics.

 

  • Is it possible to paint suede and nubuck with Color and Cool paints?

No, our paints are not suitable for suede or nubuck surfaces. Color and Cool has specified the surface types for superior usage and our paints are ideal for leather, faux leather, canvas denim, and nylon fabric.

 

  • What should I do before I paint the surface?

Clean the surface of your article of dirt and grime. Scrub any scuff marks gently with acetone or de-glazer. This process will greatly help with the of binding of color pigments and the surface being painted. Please check our quick user guide via (insert link).

 

  • What type of brush would you recommend?

Any high-quality synthetic brush designed for acrylic paints will work well.

 

  • Do all paints in the set have the same opacity?

The opacity of some colors may vary depending on the pigment structure and content.

 

  • Are Color and Cool paints suitable for mixing?

Yes. Color and Cool has formulated the paints in such a way that they can be mixed with each other to create your own individual color palette.

 

  • Are Color and Cool paints suitable for thinning?

Yes. Because Color and Cool paints are water-based, you would need to add water to thin them. How much water to add depends on how thin you want the paint to be.

 

  • What area will the paints cover?

Here's a basic guide to help you figure out how much paint you'll need for a project.

  • How can I remove dried paint/paint that has been applied incorrectly while painting?

Paint can be cleaned with a small amount of denatured alcohol. If a stain remains, it can be retouched with whatever color the surface is painted in.

 

  • How can I remove incorrectly applied paint while painting is in progress?

If you notice the mistake right after you have made it, act quickly. Wipe away the paint with a damp cloth or paper towel before it dries. If a stain remains, it can be retouched with whatever color the surface is painted in.

 

  • How long should I wait for the paint to dry? How can I ensure that the paint does not fade or transfer to my clothes?

Under normal conditions, the ideal drying time is 24 hours before use for better and safer results. After 24 hours, we recommend that you check to see if the product has dried, as this varies depending on the environment in which it is left to dry. Our paint does not stain or darken your clothes once they are completely dry. We highly recommend that you use finisher because it acts as a protective coating and strengthens impermeability.

 

  • When the shoes I painted get dirty, what should I use to clean them?

You can clean them with cleaners that are free of bleach and alcohol. We recommend Color and Cool Cleaning Essentials.

 

  • Are Color and Cool paints suitable for use on shoe soles?

Yes, you can use them on soles, but naturally the shoe's sole wears out faster than the upper surface.

 

  • When dry, what is the finish of Color and Cool paints?

Our paints have a glossy finish, but you can achieve the desired finish by using our matte or shine finishers.

 

  • How do we prevent paints from cracking after drying?

Make sure the surface is properly prepped with de-glazer or 100% acetone to prevent future cracking. Aside from proper preparation, painting in thin coats and applying finishers will help to prevent cracking.

 

  • What is the shelf life of paints?

Color and Cool paints can be stored properly in room temperature for up to three years after opening the bottle, as long as it remains tightly closed.
